What types of courses are available?
We offer One2One training for bespoke courses, Special ½ Price single day courses conducted on a Sunday and Special rate Introductory to Floristry 4 day courses for up to 6 people. One2One Level 2 and Level 3 courses covering many commercial subjects which are all ideal if you are planning to open your own business. Included in Level 3 is an impeccable understanding to bridal floristry covering both traditional and contemporary trends.
Do you offer handouts or do we have to take our own notes?
We are able to give out over 99% handouts, However if I train bespoke designs then you need to take informative notes yourself.
Do you offer courses for people who have learning difficulties?
Yes, the One2One courses each delegate is encouraged to learn at their own pace I will never add pressure on any delegate, as many questions needed to understand the subject instruction is always given. A companion is always welcome to join the paying delegate to help with care, taking notes and photos or simply nearby as company.
Can I purchase my training as I go?
Yes, You are welcome to purchase your course dates for One2One training to match your budget as an example pay your course deposit. This will reserve your dates, then pay as you go each payment will be cleared before the start of each course. For this scheme you do not receive a discount.

Will the course be certificated?
Yes all our courses are certificated also showing professional development hours, which can be used towards assessment achievements with City and Guilds, NVQ and BTEC from all of the recognised college’s courses offering floristry in the UK.
What is my certificate worth to the high street?
Your Floristry Training certificate is recognised with-in the industry by Commercial Designers, High Street Florists, Educational Establishments and Relay Organisations.
Can I take City and Guilds NVQ or BTEC assessments at the Floristry Training Studio instead of going to college?
You can take as many assessments as you need to pass a registered level. However the payment is expensive as you have to import a Registered Internal assessor and External Verifier to assess you practical and theory pieces for a full certification you will also have to register with the quality assured qualification board like City and Guilds or BTEC
Do you have set times and dates for training?
All our One-2-One training is a 6 hour contact and booked in line with both diaries throughout the year, the start and finish time this can be flexible to fit with other commitments i.e. School etc.
Special Courses and Introduction to Floristry courses are offered set days and will always start at 9.30 am
What are the finish times?
All our One-2-One training is a 6 hour contact.
Special Courses and Introduction to Floristry will finish 3.30pm
Do you offer lunch?
No but each course breaks at a convenient time around 1pm for one hour break. So always bring with you a packed lunch. We have a lounge area for comfort and relaxation.
There is a mini supermarket and a baker less than half a mile away from the studio to collect fresh product in the morning before class or at lunch time.
Are there drinks available?
Each delegate is supplied with a sealed bottle of water and drinking glass. We also have a coffee machine always turned on to help yourself alternatively tea is available with biscuits.
Who will be conducting the floristry training?
Heather conducts all the courses unless advertised as another trainer. Sometimes throughout the year we do have guest speakers but you will know who this is in the advertisements.

100%. Payment is required to cover flower material that would have already been ordered and the loss of reselling your booked dates.
6 - 14 working days prior to your course 50% of your final total.
A minimum of 7 working days’ notice prior to the booked course/s to arrange a reschedule.
Never worry about referrals on training days booked. You will always be credited if you need to reschedule, however please check penalties on late cancelling.
Are all your courses conducted in the studio?
Yes, the quality of teaching and the use of all the mechanics and materials are so much easier if courses are conducted in the studio than traveling to another venue.
Do I have to bring a camera?
A camera is always available for your use while attending the course if you do not own one. At the end of your course I will add your images to a disk for you to take home.
Health and Safety.
When you apply for a course we will expect you to fill in insurance and health and safety requirements form. The studio has a step into the building. There is also another step when going to the toilet. There are bar stools to sit on at a high work bench.
However you must always remember a workroom can have some unsafe items as scissors, wires and knives to name just a few so you must always act sensibly and take these hazards into consideration while working in the studio. Our flooring is felt and none slip, there is also a water drain for any spillage. Comfortable clothing and shoes are advisable. We offer aprons for clothes protection and gloves for the hands. Your safety is our priority. Make sure your tenuis jabs are all current.

I am already a florist and I don’t want to be left behind. Can I book odd days at the studio?
Many trained people come into the studio to update or cover new challenges it is very sensible to keep current will all styles and trends.
What experience is needed before you open a shop?
Truthfully: floristry isn’t a 9-5 job you have to be dedicated, special peak periods which will happen 3 times in a year (Christmas, Mother’s Day and Valentine) you can be working a 24 hour day. It is recognised as the highest percentage business to fail. That said if you manage your business very carefully you will be blessed with the most creative, and satisfying job ever.
Hay fever sufferers
If you suffer from hay fever you need to make sure you have your medication before your course.
What is the difference between Floristry and Flower Arranging?
Flower arranging of vocational and viewed as a craft for your pleasure. Floristry is none-vocational and is a profession to offer as a business.
However the path crosses with both these subjects and are often worked hand in hand to form very successful businesses.
